Hello again, and hello. Finally going back to my bottleneck piano. William didn't have the... time to look over the spelling when he wrote his diary entry, and since such things are important to him he asked me if I could do it. Luckily, H leaves his computer accessible from great distances, such as Proxima Centauri. I may not have spotted every mis-spelling, but I really have to get back to my music. Sheet music up here is written on eleven lines on three-dimensional paper, so deep concentration is required, and is also a good idea. Now, if I could only get this ship to land in Aberdeen and retrieve my organ.

What joy! What marvellous opportunities! We finally have a diary section, thanks to our capable friend H. Of course, William is probably typing away at his usual highly personal opinions and exaggerations right now, but I extend a warm welcome to all of you. And welcome to you all !

Now to bring you up do date:

Before the end of last year, I left my three-and-a-half-stringed organ (You may have seen a picture of it elsewhere on these pages) in the care of a charming young lady from Aberdeen. Unfortunately, the same bad weather that stopped Hogmanay celebrations prevented my spaceship from landing in Aberdeen to get my organ back. We are now busy touring the Asteroid Belt, and so I will not be able to go to Aberdeen. I must make do with the slide flute, plucked trombone and whatever else I've got. I'm sure the organ looks great on that dressing table though! Especially since we put that handle on it. That's the only (I swear) illegal thing I've ever (please don't think I'm a bad person) done (I assure you), because I think the vandal who gave it to us had stolen it. But he swore the pump wasn't working anyway!

The bad weather has affected life in another very interesting way. Since there was no proper Hogmanay, it is still 2003 in Scotland. This has done wonders for many a lady's age (which I would not dare ask).

It is here ! The remastered This Is The Sea. What joy! You all know how wonderful the original album was. Now, supposedly, we get better cd sound (I'll compare when I have nothing to do) , but most importantly, an extra cd full of music: work in progress, finished songs, and yes, Mike Scott even had to sing his answer phone message. Well, you didn't think music was an occasional activity in his life, did you?

What a rocking and rolling band they were. Or could have been. They were loud, fast and furious at times. Of course The Waterboys are better known (and rightly so) for Big Musical landscapes and "folk" rock, but don't you feel like calling them just a rock 'n roll band when you hear some of these songs?

A great album it is, and remember, That Was The River isn't even on it. It's on Secret Life (So buy it if you haven't already). Creative man, mr Scott.

Right now, the favourite is Then You Hold Me. Such a simple, heart warming love song. And it's interesting to hear Even The Trees... Perhaps a friend of ours was right after all when she heard bits of the Universal Hall album and said "This is what they've always been doing". Let's hope they'll be doing it for a long time.
